SPACES SHAPED THROUGH
ARCHITECTURE, MATERIALITY
AND THE RITUALS
OF EVERYDAY LIFE.
Kim Kneipp Studio is an interior design practice based in Melbourne, working across Australia on architecturally integrated residential, wellness and commercial environments.
Through careful attention to planning, materiality and atmosphere, we create environments that feel calm, connected and deeply personal.
Each project begins with listening. How someone wants to live, the rhythms of their day, the experiences a space can support over time.
If you have an upcoming project and would like to begin a conversation, we'd love to hear from you.
KIM KNEIPP
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Kim's approach to design was shaped long before she entered the profession.
Raised between her father's acupuncture clinic, her mother's commercial pottery and her extended family's cabinet-making businesses in tropical North Queensland, she developed an early understanding of the relationship between environment, materiality and the self.
These influences became the foundation for Design Acupuncture, the studio's approach to understanding the relationship between people, place and everyday life. Through observation, pattern recognition and thoughtful intervention, she creates environments that feel intuitive, connected and deeply personal.
After studying fashion, Kim worked across garment reconstruction, personal styling and wellness environments before establishing her interior design practice.
From 2012 to 2021 she played a key role in the evolution of Peninsula Hot Springs, contributing across design, guest experience and major projects including the Amphitheatre, Glamping accommodation and Eco Lodges. The experience helped shape many of the ideas that would later evolve into Design Acupuncture.
Today her work spans residential, wellness and commercial environments, creating spaces that feel calm, connected and capable of supporting the evolving rhythms of everyday life.
Outside the studio, Kim is an avid bather, cook, gardener and habitual furniture rearranger. Mother to two sporty boys, she speaks French, rusty Italian and is attempting to learn German. Two parts city glamour, one part country kid, her drink of choice is a dirty gin martini. With olives.
Olive is the new black.
CLAUDIA BLOXSOME
INTERIOR DESIGNER
Claudia brings a beautifully textured sensibility to our team.
A trained Interior Designer with a parallel practice in weaving through Cloud May Studio, Claudia's hands-on relationship with material and craft deepens her understanding of colour, composition and spatial narrative.
Claudia has been with Kim Kneipp Studio since 2021, working across concept design and documentation, project management and FF&E procurement. Her ability to move fluidly between the conceptual and the practical makes her an integral part of projects from early design thinking through to delivery.
Her tactile instincts, attention to detail and material sensitivity bring a quiet and considered layer to the studio's work.
JENI WESTLE
COMMUNICATIONS & STRATEGY
Jeni and Kim first worked together at Peninsula Hot Springs, where a shared interest in wellness, design and the way people experience place began a working relationship that has continued in different forms ever since.
With a background spanning communications, construction and property, Jeni brings a broad and practical perspective to the studio. For our commercial and wellness clients, her strategic thinking helps extend a project's identity beyond the physical space, creating greater continuity between place, brand and communication.
Away from Kim Kneipp Studio, she is one half of Sawsee and Loreco, and has collaborated with Kim on residential projects including her own home, Little More House. Direct, open and endlessly practical, she also helps us communicate our own work with greater clarity, while doing her best to convince Kim that facing the camera won't kill her.
“DESIGN BECOMES MEANINGFUL
WHEN IT EMBRACES TIME,
TEXTURE & THE QUIET
GRACE OF IMPERFECTION.
A TRANSFORMATION THAT HOLDS MEMORY & REMAINS OPEN TO POSSIBILITY”
Every space holds more potential than it first reveals.
Sometimes all it takes is someone asking different questions.
If you're curious what that might look like for your own project, we'd love to hear from you.
