Kim Kneipp Studio is a Melbourne-based interior design studio specialising in quietly luxurious residential, commercial and wellness interiors. Our work is guided by a sensory design approach we call Design Acupuncture.

KIM KNEIPP IS A DESIGN DIRECTOR TRANSFORMING RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL & COMMUNITY PROJECTS.

HER WORK WEAVES
TOGETHER THE EMOTIONAL, ENVIRONMENTAL & ENERGETIC QUALITIES OF PLACE, CREATING SPACES THAT INVITE CALM, FOSTER CONNECTION & RESTORE THE SENSES.

  • With a direct lineage to the famous water doctor and herbalist, Sebastian Kneipp and a childhood in tropical North Queensland spent between her parents’ acupuncture clinic, commercial pottery and cabinet-making business, Kim’s design intuition developed from an early age.

A sensory-based approach she calls Design Acupuncture, her studio celebrates the beauty of imperfection, layering natural materials and time-worn textures to create spaces with a restorative, healing presence.

Kim began her career in fashion, exploring the quiet dialogue between body and cloth. Over 15 years, her work expanded into costume and set design, mental health clothing deconstruction workshops in Australia and Canada, and teaching design in Melbourne and Montreal. From 2007, she worked as The Sustainable Stylist, offering personal and interior styling services.

From 2013 to 2021, Kim was Design Director at the multi-award-winning Peninsula Hot Springs, collaborating closely with owners, architects, landscapers, trades and artisans. She oversaw major projects including the Amphitheatre facilities, Glamping accommodation and Eco Lodges, deepening her expertise in interiors, wellness and bathing culture.

In 2022, during Melbourne’s Covid lockdowns, Kim Kneipp Studio was launched, specialising in bespoke residential, commercial and wellness design.

Away from the studio, KK is an avid bather, cook, gardener, Tetris player and habitual furniture rearranger. Mother to two sporty boys, she speaks French, rusty Italian, and is attempting to learn German. She is two parts city glamour to one part country kid, always partial to a perfectly made dirty gin martini. With olives.

    Olive is the new black.

CLAUDIA BLOXSOME
INTERIOR DESIGNER

Claudia brings a beautifully textured sensibility to our team. An Interior Designer by day and a weaver under the moniker Cloud May Studio at night, Claudia’s dual practice deepens her design approach, enhancing her understanding of colour, craftsmanship, composition and spatial narrative.

Her role in the business is as diverse as her creative interests, spanning from concept design and documentation, through to project management and FF+E procurement. We’ve been lucky to have Claudia with Kim Kneipp Studio since 2022. Her tactile instincts, attention to detail and material sensitivity elevate our interiors, infusing them with the graceful poetry and quiet impact found in her woven work.

NATASHA WHEATLAND
PROJECT ARCHITECT

Tash joins our team with over 25 years’ experience as a registered architect. Having worked primarily in boutique practices where intimacy and diversity shape the design process, she strengthens our studio’s dialogue between architecture and interiors, ensuring every exterior gesture remains deeply connected to the inner world.

Calm and thorough in her approach, Tash is drawn to natural materials, the wabi-sabi patina of imperfection and the unfolding play of light across surfaces. Her sensitivity to materiality and light brings a quiet depth and enduring resonance to our work.

Beyond practice, she finds inspiration in the bush and through photography, weaving, basket making and camping with her two boys.

“DESIGN BECOMES MEANINGFUL
WHEN IT EMBRACES TIME,
TEXTURE & THE QUIET
GRACE OF IMPERFECTION.

A TRANSFORMATION THAT HOLDS MEMORY & REMAINS OPENS TO POSSIBILITY”
